In the region around Singapore, on the average 14% of the population in Asian live below the poverty line (https://www.adb.org/countries/thailand/poverty), affecting those living in rural areas the hardest, particularly marginalised groups including women and minority groups.

Efforts to fight poverty have become even more difficult because of the impact of climate change. Extreme temperatures, rising sea levels and tidal surges leading to the salinization of fresh water, Salty water is killing fruit trees and severely reducing rice and legumes harvests, making it difficult for farmers to grow traditional crops.

Crab Lovers Farm will be interested to work with partners around the region to fight poverty and give families a chance to earn a living and putting their children back to school.
